Hello, I'm a new member. Last month I brought in my prescription two days early for a refill at Rite Aid. After a bit of a hassle because they said I had to wait a few more days he called my Doctors office. Now my Doctor has refused to ever fill another oxycodone presciption for me! I suffer spinal stenosis and 2 blown disks and am in lots of pain. I was taking 15 mg. four times a day.
Thanks for any thoughts...

Ask your doctor to send you to a pain clinic where they will prescribe you what they believe will help control your pain. The quick release opiate such as percocet or statex are not supposed to be prescribed as for chronic pain as they lose their effectiveness very quickly and you can end up addicted.
So a pain clinic is a good thing for you as they are up to date on what's working and they can diagnose your pain much more accurately then a family doctor. So they will likely put you on a sustained release opiate/opioid like MS Contin or Oxycontin, the fentanyl patch which isn't a long acting drug but the matrix patch allows it to be released in a 72 hr period.

The problem is your doctor was doing you a favor by pre dating scripts for you and you went in too early. You put his DEA permit in jeopardy. He can not prescribe refills on the original prescription for this type of med. You get them on a monthly basis and he trusted you wouldn't try to fill it early. Sorry to be so blunt about it but it's people who do this that makes doctors very nervous about prescribing decent pain control meds. I would look for a pain management doctor as Dave suggested. Be honest and upfront about any and all meds you have taken. I suffered a shattered spine at L-1 and L-2. Permanent nerve damage and additional surgery is needed. I see ONLY my surgeon. He prescribes a sustained release med, and a breakthrough med. I am cutting back already on the BT meds because he put me on a decent sustained release med. You need better pain control for an obviously chronic painful condition. Good luck on finding a good PM doctor. No one should have to live with chronic pain.

Thank you, now I understand why I'm having so many problems. I'm shocked to be taken off because of being two days early. CVS held my prescription for those two days and called me when it went through. His nurse is the one who told the Dr., I don't know what she said to take me off and why... She won't let me talk with the doctor about this, I wrote him a letter and she said 'he's sticking to his decision'. I have not heard this from him, how can a third party do this??? Did he even get my letter? Does this nurse have something against pain medication people?
I am sorry to say you did blow it with this doctor. All I can suggest is find a specialist and get on a sustained release medication. For a chronic condition, this should not be a problem. The only thing you can do at this point is sign a medical records release form at the doctors office that threw you out. Bring all your records and a printout from the pharmacy with you when you see a specialist. Do it ASAP as your meds will run out before you can get in to see a specialist. I wish you well and good luck! When you make the appt., just tell them you were referred and it's for a consultation only. But come prepared with your records.
