Im 56 years old I've had Rosacea for 20 years and it seems the meds. that use to help my Rosacea no longer work. ( minocycline) So my Derm. perscribed Doryx. I've taken Doxycycline in the past, and it hurt my stomach. He said Doryx is time released so it should help that problem. He also said my insurance wont cover Doryx ( they'll just give me generic doxycycline) So he wants me to keep getting sample supplyies from him. My questions are, How much is Doryx? Why won't insurance pay for the time release version? How long can someone safely take Doryx? Can I be on it for years like my other meds or just to treat a flair up and then stop? Thanks for any info that helps.
