Does zyrtec or allergy meds make you gain weight?

If you love dogs the way I do, you can get shots to desensitize you to their dander. It takes a couple of years to get it done, but it does help. As far as allergy pills, I don't believe one is any better than than other & I've tried them all. I have ended up going to generic Actifed which is used for colds & allergy, & use Naphcom A allergy eye drops. I wouldn't get rid of my best friend for any reason. What's really funny is we had a Bichon that had terrible allergies too. We had her tested & she was allegic to every kind of meat except duck, but the really funny part is her worst allergy was to human dander, & my husband has psorasis! Now that's a hoot! Good luck with your choices. Oh, & I have never had one make me gain any weight either. Mary632009

Hi, my sisters partner takes Clarityn (sp?) non drowsy as he has allergies to dogs, and he has no side effects, and no weight gain.
