Does wellbutrin taken a couple times daily have the same effect as welbutrin xl taken 1 time a day?

Hi,
Wellbutrin XL is the longest-acting version of bupropion, taken just once a day.

Now
Wellbutrin in order to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. Wellbutrin will not work if you take it in a way other than how your Doctor prescribed it.

Do not self medicate.

I too had to switch from the once a day to the multiple-times-per day, since the manufacturer of the drug had sold that part off to another company. I really do not like taking it more than once a day but thats how it must be done or risk harming one's self. I take 300 mg in AM and 150 mg at 4 pm. (these are the lilac-colored pills). Any later and I'm up all night. I feel that my moods are not as well even-keeled with this dosing format. WHen I was on the kind that was supposed to be taken once a day (the little white pill), I felt much more even keeled throughout the day, no up and down effect like I am experiencing now. I am trying to take it exactly the same time every day now, setting an alarm on my phone as a reminder. Thank you. I hope this helps.
