Does plaquenil cause shingles, does it suppress the immune system?

I'm not a healthcare provider, but I do take Plaquenil and just found out from another user of it that it does suppress the immune system. I didn't know that when I started taking it for Sjogren's in November 2011. In January 2012, I had a horrible cold, stomach flu and then SHINGLES. Your post was the first I've seen relating to a corrilation between the two. My guess is yes. I have had some relief from taking it, but I don't want to be coming down with illnesses every other week. I have to weight the risk... why did you ask? Did this happen to you, too?
