I started taking phentermine in 2008 and the results were fantastic. I lost 30 lbs in three months. I went off the program and a little bit of the weight started to creap back on. I gained about 12 lbs and went back on the program but it didn't work the same the second time around.

Only very short studies have evaluated the effectiveness of medications like phentermine. In these studies, people taking these medications lost more weight than those not taking them, but the difference was small (only a fraction of a pound more per week for the people taking the weight loss medication). Studies also suggest that the effects of these medications for weight loss decrease after the first few weeks.
However, more accurate info the doc who prescribed the med would be able to impart, please take care.
