Does ciproflox work on uti?

It should. If you aren't at least a little better after 3 days of treatment,(and you should be) go have your urine cultured. There are 4 main bacteria that cause UTI"s and 3 of them respond to one treatment, the 4th to something else. One time I needed the 4th medicine and the doc's office had just checked for the presence of white cells and didn't culture, so, they didn't know that. They actually appologized when I needed to come in and have it cultured. I am pretty sure the medicine you have will work on any uti.

Ciproflox should work, providing that the bacterial infection is sensitive to that particular antibiotic. If its a really bad urine infection, tests should be run on a urine sample to see which of the antibiotics would be most effective. There are a number of antibiotics available to treat urine infections, last time I had one I was put on Nitrofurantoin for 5 days and it cleared the infection completely.

Best to get back to your physician if it is an intractable infection and ask for some tests to be run.
