I have trouble falling asleep and sometimes, staying asleep for more than a few hours. Room temperature is cool, bed is comfy, I'm not hungry, do not have pain so what can anyone recommend?

Hi Good Friend. I have never heard of catnip helping people sleep. I tried to smoke it once as a joke and got the biggest headache of my life. Have you tried Tylenol PMs. They help a little. If you don't want to ask your doctor for help you can get Melatonin and that helps. It's by the vitamins. Try taking a nice hot shower. That always relaxes me. I couldn't take not getting any sleep so my doctor put me on Soma. I take 2 of them at night and it's lights out for me. Good luck and I really hope you get some sleep. To me no sleep means more pain. I will talk to the sandman for you and send him your way.

Hi good friend. The answer is no. I'd recommend Remeron or Trazodone, anti depressants that are also prescribed for sleeping. Halcion, Dalmane these two are benzodiazepines made especially to help you sleep. They are usually only prescribed short term, because of thier addictivnes. Any number of over the counter drugs, such as sominex. They also do work but not as effectively as a presribed sleeping drug. Best wishes,

I thought I may have stumbled on a new script for you my friend who awakens in the middle of the night with sleep problems, called Intermezzo. Was approved by FDA on 11/23 to help people with this specific problem, but after further checking it is a form of zolpidem which is no more than Ambien. I don't recommend that one for anyone. But the news is good to know. Just whomever stumbles across the new info, be very careful & research the new meds carefully, before asking you doctor for a new script...
