Hey susiejacuzzi,
Gonna have to be patient on this one. You are still on a low dose of the BuSpar. May take a couple of increases before you notice a difference in your level of anxiety. The tiredness is a common side effect which may go away with continued use. If the crying and and get up and go don't get better in the next week, please let the doctor know. You may need to be on an antidepressant rather than the BuSpar. Many antidepressants also help with anxiety. Hang in there, there are sloutions.
Best wishes,
Laurie
Hey Laurie thanks fingers crossed start double dose tomorrow reading some of the feedback can put you off, I haven't had any side effects just tearful but just got to go with it.

Many people say that Buspar is useless. I think this is because when people take this type of medicine they expect an acute, noticeable, and marked emotional change. Buspar's effect is subtle. I think if a nervous system is depressed or anxious, Buspar works well for it's treatment. Many people may not notice it. Benzodiazpines are fast acting an effective, but they are incredibly habit forming and people become too reliant on them. They tranquilize the central nervous system much the way alcohol does. If you're popping xanax or ativan, it's like taking a shot of whiskey. You can even black out and have hangovers from benzos (taking more than prescribed of course). Buspar seems to help me long term. I respond to situations better, have less crowd anxiety, and just have an overall better sense of well being. Buspar works. Buspar can be helpful for anxiety and depression, but most anxious people are impatient and do not give Buspar a fair shot.

You won't suddenly feel calm like you would with other anti-anxiety medication. Instead, a slow change will occur and your quality of life will improve. This has been my experience. If you do not want a potentially habit forming quick fix, Buspar should be helpful. I notice how well it works when I run out and miss a couple of days of dosing. Symptoms return and I get a better feel for its effectiveness. Hopefully it helps you too.
Also, I do not think the side effects are anything worth worrying about. Let your body go through the adjustment period though. Give it an honest shot for at least a month. I think that would be enough time to gauge if its benefits outweigh the cons. It is helpful in learning how to handle anxious feelings without instant relief, but just lessening their severity.
Thanks ryan I appreciate the good healthy advice as i feel a lot of the responses on here are freaking me out and I am waiting for the fall it's making me rather nervous, however I do apprecaite it won't work for everyone. Think I just got to let it work and give it a chance you are right about benzos etc I drive alot and could not take anything like that, will let you know how i get on.
