My wife's insurance company totally quit covering it several years ago (typical insurance garbage)! My wife had been on it since it came out. NOTHING else comes close to helping her condition like Nexium.

Generics tend to come out when the patent wears off and that is 17 years. According to wikipedia, nexium came out in 2001 so it will probably be 2018 before they come out with a generic. I had the same problem with Protonix, my insurance wouldn't cover it and I have had to take store brand Prilosec otc. I take it twice a day. I have learned to cut out cooked onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, oranges, and most over the counter pain meds and it helped. My pharmacist said even his insurance won't cover protonix and he takes the generic prilosec also. Sorry I couldn't help more, but, it didn't look like anyone knew the answer.
