You need an Oncologist/Hematologist as it usually turns to Cancer if not treated properly. Also that doctor can appeal the decision of not covering it. I used to work in research of Hepatitis. You have too much to worry about, (staying well) and an Oncologist knows what to do, to show the insurance company this is a mandatory medicine.

Thanks for your guidance itsmetoo2. I am appealing to Bristol-Meyers Squibb and just discussed the "appeal" process with my ID Dr. He is a rather well-respected Dr. focusing primarily on dual diagnosis of HIV/AIDS and Hep. Baraclude has reduced my HBV so well I was taken off transplant protocol. With this in mind, do you still suggest an Oncologist/Hematologist?
I would confer with the doctor you have right now. Ask him if you would benefit by an 2nd opinion. I think the more people on your side the better off you will be. Many patients with Hep B have found it beneficial to have a doctor that knows chemo drugs as that is what is used to fight this horriable condition.
Thanks for your insight. I agree with you 100% and appreciate your time and input. I'll begin the process of researching and interviewing potential doctors!
