Is there a prescription that is given for anxiety that is compatible with it and with avonex? Any advise would be helpful! Thank you Litlmommag
Does anyone know if cymbalta is suppose to help with anxiey & can it be given with Avenox?

Hey litlmommag,
Cymbalta like other antidepressants will help some with anxiety. You could add a low dose of a benzodiazepine such as Xanax or Klonopin to the Cymbalta for anxiety relief. The only other medicine besides benzo's that comes to mind is BuSpar. It is not addictive like the benzo's can be and is prescribed specifically for anxiety.

Howdy doody, its Skins n i was prescribed Cymbalta by a psychiatrist n was warned away from it by equinox14 who use to be a member on this site, im not too sure if she still is but she had a horrendous time with this medication. My memory is shot, but i do remember her saying after it screwing with her head and her ability to function normally she decided to stop taking it and then it turned from bad to worse. I had filled my script at this stage but after reading her post i threw it out. I will search for her answer to my question and get back to you. There are better meds for anxiety some run the risk of addiction but not if you are sensible ie xanax or valium is popular but it is a benzo, therefore alot of doctors will not prescribe this med easily. I will get back to you.

As you already probably know, I take Abilify, Cymbalta, and Klonopin for my anxiety, MDD, OCD, panic disorder. It is a very effective combination FOR ME. I don't know what will be best for you, but klonopin and ativan are saviors when it comes to anxiety. A low dose three times daily is what I take to control my symptoms. The little sheet of paper that comes with the drug says that "yes, it has the potential to solve some anxiety problems." Usually, it is the drug itself that causes the anxiety. One of the reasons my lady stopped taking it. I believe there are other, more specific products to target your anxiety. My lady takes Klonopin for her anxiety.
