I started having them 2 weeks ago. They are so bad that I have to change bed clothes once or twice a night. The bed clothes are also soaked. This starts within 1 hour of falling asleep. Then it keeps me awake. I get so thirsty during this time that I drink 4-5 glasses of water through the night.
This is not related to menopause or any new medications.
If anyone can relate to this or knows a probable cause I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't know but about 5-6 years ago we went through this because our entire household went through symtoms like this then we all were sick, we had the flu, it started with me, I would have to change my clothes from the night clothes out and clean up and then change the sheets, my Dad then started and had the same thing my mother was the only one who didn't come down with it, once things set in the two of us had such hard chills and sweats that my mom would climb in bed withus and got them under control (she never ever got sick but my Dad and I had about 3 solid weeks of this, I don't know that this is even got a thing to do with you but when I read this it came back to my mind like it was yesterday, I hope whatever the problem is that you improve and that this will pass, please take care and best wishes and keep us posted as to how you are doing when you can.
They start before I even start to dream. I sleep a little through the night. I wake up soaked change clothes and wake up soaked again. Because I get the sweats so bad I only get about 3 hours sleep. My sleeping pills don't help anymore

Hey youneverknow,
I thought I responded to your question earlier but I don't see it, so I'll try again. Night sweats and hot flashes are a result of a hormone imbalance which can occur whether you are menopausal or not. Try going to the website at www.womentowomen.com/understandyourbody/symptoms/hotflashesnightsweats and reading all about it.
Hope you get relief soon,
Laurie

Yes, for sure. When I was coming off of xanax, I would have the worst nightmares. Not only would my pajamas and underwear be soaked in sweat, I also had three layers of bedding soaked as well. Anyone would have thought I had wet the bed, which luckily wasn't the case. I remember having to get up and change clothes three times a night. It hasn't happened in awhile, but it was during time periods of severe discomfort and even sometimes, fear. Don't worry, you are not strange. This even happened to me in jail where they keep temperatures almost freezing. I don't know why this happens, just know that you are not alone.
will do.

I've been suffering with terrible night sweats that are sometimes accompanied by night terrors. I noticed it happening after I've started new meds, however even after I'm on them for a long time (over one year) I still suffer. I don't know what else to do. I've been to my Primary Care doctor, an OBGYN (because they thought it might be hormonal) and have had every blood test (including thyroid) possible and everything's checked out! It's really frustrating to have to get up 2-3 times at night and change your clothes, sheets, and take showers in the middle of the night when I could be sound asleep!

I get night sweats and I'm having dreams with them.I usually have to change my t- shirt.I'm sure it's my medication.I put powder on before I go to bed and that helps a little.I've been going through menopause for 12 years. I think that is related also.I wish you luck.Mention it to the doctor.I did and he said his wife (who is older than I) gets night sweats every night).M
What medications please? Did that insensitive doctor not ask about them when you brought it up?
And- anyone have night hots without drenching sweats. I get a high hot, like a fever, but do not sweat if I get my pyjamas off quickly. The heat is inside, my skin remains cold, but it can last 30 to 90 minutes. Not one full night's sleep in more than a year.

Hi Billy. Thanks for the comment. That is not the issue here but you have an idea what I am going through. I am about 9 months past due for my second biopsy. Last year the lymph nodes in it armpits were extremely enlarged. I had one biopsy done. The doctor was very concerned I had lymphoma. I never got the second one because I couldn't afford the balance I owed them. I still owe them over $200.
I now have symptoms of lymphoma of which the drenching sweats are one. How have you been? How is your Mom? Take care, Sable
