I am not sure whether Alli reduces the absorption of sugars from your diet BUT Metabolic side effects have included hypoglycemia in clinical trials of obese diabetic patients. At least one case of diabetic ketoacidosis has also been reported, in addition to a case of polyuria and polydipsia.
Alli (orlistat) blocks some of the fat that you eat, keeping it from being absorbed by your body.
