Why do doctors prescriibe anti-psychotics, like Zyrtec, Seroquil for sleep instead of Ambien, ect?

Is your dr rx'ing these 2 meds for suboxone withdrawal, or have you heard of it being done. Most drs give clonidine or methacarbomal. Zirtec is Cetirizine, and antihistmine, not really antipsych drug. Many people do benefit from a low dose antidepressant while finishing a taper off subs. Seroquel also produces sleep, may be used for insomnia related to subs withdrawal. If a person tapers off subs, they usually don't need additional meds. I only got a low dose of amitriptyline to help with sleep. Could you hit comment and maybe list a bit more info. I haven't seen too many posts where people took Seroquel while on subs.

Most drs give clonidine-can't take, on phenobarb instead of benzos

Many people do benefit from a low dose antidepressant while finishing a taper off subs-I'm just starting, a week ago, was told it would be continued for few months!!! Everything I've been reading here doesn't make that sound very good... Thanks for response..A.
