I think you should go back to your doctor since he's knows your medical history and ask him if he can give another med. Dont use alternative medicine since there are many cases where the patients go back again to their doctor after using alternative med after suffering from stroke and heart attack. We react differently from high blood medication. Find one that is good for you.

You should speak to your prescriber. I started on hydrochlorathiazide, which didn't work on its own, and was given Diltiazem. When my husband and I were trying to conceive our second son, I was switched to Aldomet, the only HBP drug approved for pregnancy. Afterwards, I was put on Lotrel, which caused an AWFUL cough, and now I am on Micardis which seems to be working with little to no side effects whatsoever. With some trial and error, you will find one that is just right for you! Good Luck!
