Do you think vicodin will help my lower back pain?

Vicodin (hydrocodone) is a weak opiate that is used for mild to moderate pain. It should not be used for acute pain and not chronically as you grow a tolerence to it quickly.
So if you have the odd back pain flare up then vicodin would be ok. If you have constant (chronic) back pain that requires opiates then you need a sustained release med like ms contin (sustained release morphine)... Good luck... Dave
