My GYN prescribed Prometrium for me to take because I have stopped having menstrual periods (amennorhea), and I haven't reached menopause yet.
Do you experience a heavier or lighter period while taking Prometrium? How does it work?

Prometrium (progesterone) is used to treat women who have do not have a menstrual period because of decreased progesterone in the body. Prometrium is a hormone, it works by changing the lining of the uterus. Stopping Prometrium causes a period. It is difficult to predict what your period will be like when you stop the tablets.
