Back, leg, arm and breast pain are a common side-effect of Femara. You will need to talk to your doctor of the pain is bothersome or not going away.
I could not find any information about pain easing over time. Talk to your doctor or you could try our forum. http://www.drugs.com/forum/

I've been taking Femara for over 2yrs and the side effects seem to have gotten progressively worse. Additionally, more side effects have cropped up, i.e. mood swings, hair loss, fatigue.
If you find it is unbearable you may want to talk to your oncologist.
I have taken femara for 16 months with no noticeable side effects. If anything, my hair got thicker (which I love). Unfortunately it stopped wkg for me and as of today I'm on aromasin, but I hated to go of femara because it was a great experience; I didn't even know I was taking it, except that it was controlling my cancer.
