I have been taking the Benadryl Allergy pills for three months now per my dermatologist's request to relieve my back pain I am experiencing from my shingles rash. My Shingles Rash is getting better it is brown and crusted over but I still am receiving constant pain after my medication wears off. I have been getting severe
dizziness and bad headaches for the past four days now those are some of the side
effects of taking the Oral Benadryl Allergy medication. I was fine and didn't have these
side effects until a few days ago.
Do I need to call and let me Doctor know if I am experiencing severe dizziness and headaches?

Yes, I would call my doctor as soon as you can. If you are feeling really bad, I would not wait. Do they have answering services? If not, maybe if it's that bad you might consider the ER. You should not have dizziness and bad headaches for four days..That seems a little extreme to me. I wish you the best in finding an answer soon..Kimmie...

I would definately call your doctor! The shingles rash & symptoms can last for a very long time, the pain can last last long after the rash is gone, but the dizzy spells & headach are new smptoms and should be reported asap. I am amazed you have been able to treat such a painful ailment with benadryl, good for you, but pls do not fool arournd with this new symptom, it could be some type of build up from the meds and should be checked right away. Thank you also for telling me to call my dermatologist asap. I wanted to call my doctor
asap but didn't want to impose on him since he is so busy. I will give him a call tomorrow morning and let him know I am having bad side effects from my shingles rash.
My doctor is the one who requested me to use Benadryl pills for my shingles rash.
But now I need some new medication to help me manage my painful shingles rash.
