Diovan and Benicar are both in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. They keep blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. There is very little difference between either of them and the drug of choice will depend on which works better for you.
See these links for user reviews of both medicines: http://www.drugs.com/comments/olmesartan/benicar.html
