effectiveness and cost differential

Novolog 70/30 contains insulin aspart/insulin aspart protamine
Humulin 70/30 contains insulin isophane/insulin regular
These are called biphasic insulin. This makes it easier to inject two different types of insulin at the same time.
Profile of the premixed insulin depends on the combination. Normally, one insulin will be rapid or short acting and the other one has a longer duration of action.
Both Insulin types are totally effective. I don't the cost differential though.
