Hey totts,
I believe you gave us the wrong info here. Ativan can't be 0.375 mg. I don't know what number you meant to say? But if you have been on Ativan a long time he's supposed to slowly taper you off it. If the 15 mg of Barbital isn't helping call him and tell him. He has to try something else. And make sure you tell him about your heart. Good luck.

Yes, this is the correct amount 0.375mg it was a 0.5mg pill I would cut up in 4 quarters thats .125 microgram per quarter. Very sentitive to meds only 1 Kidney. I will see doctor soon.
Well ok, now I see where you get that number from. That is a very rough estimate. I don't know that the Ativan is distributed so evenly that you can be sure. But never mind that. To help you I'd still need to know what was your dose was before you started to taper, how long have you been doing the taper. How long between each dose reduction? Or do you mean you were only on .5 mg for 22 years?
I have an article written by a psychiatrist who uses Xanax with his patients for many years. He describes how he weans them off it. All I have to do is find it. (easier said than done) Maybe you can adapt what he says to you with Ativan. They're the same family of drugs.
I'm sorry I misunderstood you with that dose. I do things like try to cut a little pill in quarters. I didn't think anyone else did the things I do. I see you do too. So it's nice to meet you.
When coming off of ativan you need to get a doctor to get you on gabapentin to wash your brain with it, as the ativan has removed it. You may feel spacey and get a little forgetful but it does a great job. I am 5 days off and he weaned me .5 a day from 1mg 3x's a day then .5 - 3x's a day... then I did .5 every other day then i stopped it. 5 days now and I'm doing good. Been on the gaba for 2 weeks at 1200mg a day. He also gave me something for sleep and something to make sure my blood pressure would not spike. Go to your doctor please.
