I realize this answer is a bit late but may help someone in future ...
Although it's not ideal to take pills from week 1 and then week 3... in terms of Desogen it is okay as all the active pills contain the same amount of estrogen and progestin (This may not be the case in terms of other brand of Birth Control Pills, ones which are biphasic or triphasic).
