I take 400 mg of Kadian,2 times a day an up to 4-30 mg of instant release Morphine for break through. I can go up to 1600 mg a day, but I also have Hep C which means I should not be taking but the vary least amount of meds. So it won't hurt the Liver. Is there any thing I can have done or take but no surgery or operations. A small amount medicine with large results.
Dear Answer's, I have degenerative disk disease with 3disk's that are out of place an one worn out?

What you need to keep in mind is that different medicines are metabolized and eliminated differently. Nice thing about morphine is that it is not as taxing to the liver where as something like oxymorphone (Opana) is. So it is not so much the quantity of med that is critical but more how it is metabolized and eliminated when worrying about your liver. Also you have to take into consideration how opid tolerant the patient is when choosing the right pain medicine. Extended release morphine is more for the opoid tolerant patient. All in all it really is a good choice given your circumstances.
