Which would help chronic back pain more: Darvocet-N 100 or Lortab 5? My fiance has scoliosis and is having major pain. He has some Lortabs left from the last time he went to the Dr. When he went in tonight he was given darvocet. I was just wondering which would be better.

Yes, i would also try the Lortab it is more potent..and helps relieve pain better in most people, but if neither drug seems to work (different drugs respond to each person differently) I would ask my docter to try experimenting with different paths of meds if the pain was that excruciating..i would recomend percocet(oxycodone) if you are familar with that. Its similar to lortab(hydrocodone) also containg acetminophen(tylenol)but is a bit more potent. This medication seems to work very well with most patients.
Chronic back pain CANNOT be deterred with Darvocet of any kind. To be honest, serious back pain needs something more than lortab 5 too, but if that works for your fiance he should go back to the doctor who prescribed them and talk with them about pain manangement. It is a long and hard road but persistance is the ONLY way to get your pain taken care of
