Will cymbalta get rid of depression and unwanted thoughts?

Hello Ig2000. It can certainly help in depression. As to unwanted thoughts, it depends upon the diagnosis. Cymbalta alone is not used in the treatment of psychosis. It is not an anti-psychotic drug. It will take close to four weeks time before beginning to feel relief in regards to anxiety, depression. Regards, pledge

It's best to say a minimum of 3 even 4-weeks, Not sure if you've tried similar meds, I have, and this one was very bad for me (that does not mean I'm saying it's bad, or bad for you.

Some of the unwanted thoughts will be up to you. If you view any medication as "help" rather than cure, your success rate will be significantly higher. Anyway, give this some time and keep your Dr informed, very informed. Hope this helps.

The best results from any antidepressant comes from the med right for you, and this can take time to find the right one, and a good therapist to teach you new ways to make things better.

Unwanted thoughts need to be reported to a good therapist/doctor. It can be the sign of needing a different medication that will be more helpful. You are not the only one who has this happen and there are many who can help you further with their experiences.
