Currently taking 10mg of amplodipine. not working effectively so do you think lotrel will work ?

Yes, it is likely that Lotrel will work better to control your blood pressure.

Benazepril (which is present in addition to amlodipine) is in a group of drugs called ACE inhibitors. ACE stands for angiotensin converting enzyme. Benazepril also widens blood vessels and also prevents the body from retaining water. This works differently to amlodipine so will provide additional blood pressure reduction effects.

However, there are no guarantees, it is a matter of trying and seeing.
