I had a serious reaction to Hydrocodone which caused shortness of breath. I went to the Emergency Room and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I confused it with the Hydrocodone reaction but have now settled on CHF and am working with a Cardiologist.

The reaction to hydrocodone didnt cause your heart failure, more than likely, it just exacerbated it. You already had the heart failure, the reaction just kicked you into that exacerbation. Try to read up on heart failure and it will help you understand. Medline Plus is a good resource for condition info: www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus or even here on this site there are different conditions listed.
