300mg of Venlafaxine is a high dose. You shouldn't take St. John's Wort without discussing it with your doctor.

If you feel that your depression isn't controlled with that dose of venlafaxine please let your doctor know and he/she may be able to help by either adjusting the dose of venlafaxine or adding another medication to it.

No. St John's Wort has much the same mode of action as an SSRI. You would be at risk of developing serotonin syndrome.
