Albuterol is a bronchodilator that ***relaxes muscles in the airways*** and increases air flow to the lungs. Albuterol is used to treat or prevent bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease. Albuterol is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm.
