C-Phen DM contains three ingredients:

Chlorpheniramine - which is an antihistamine
Phenylephrine - which is a nasal decongestant
Dextromethorphan - which is a cough suppressant

Promethazine is an antihistamine, similar in action to the chlorpheniramine in C-Phen DM.
