"I was taken off cipralex due to the horrendous side effects. My P. Doc put me on citroplam 10 mg - I've been on just over 2 weeks but experiencing jaw clenching, diarrahea, anxiety, bouts of crying and so tired! The obsessiveness seems to have subsided somewhat, but there's still a cloud hanging over me! How long does it take this drug for full effects to kick in?"

Dear Graceyc, I'm not very familiar with this medicine, but I would think it would definately be a good idea to report these side effects to your doctor. I'm sorry you're not feeling any better by now girl. Hope you get to feeling better soon. I will shoot you an email. Love, Ruthie

Like other drugs of this type citalopram will not relieve your
symptoms straight away. You should start to feel better after a few weeks,
depending on your response. If you are still not feeling any better see your doctor again - your dose may need to be increased (the usual adult dose for depression is 20mg to 40mg daily).
