Taking it for diarrhea. Also, how man days is it safe to go without a bowel movement, so as to not risk impaction?

It is important to drink lots of water whilst taking colestyramine for diarrhea and avoid foods that are constipating eg cheese. It is worth noting that bloating and constipation are a common side-effect of Cholestyramine so if think you are beginning to get constipated talk to your doctor.
