I have been on Chntix for almost 2 weeks and have noticed little if any desire to quit smoking, though I have cut back to about 1/2 pack a day from a pack a day. Will the desire become less as I go along?

Doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong ... it take a little bit longer for some people to quit. Just persevere ... OR hopefully by now you have quit. Set a quit date and be determined. All the very best.
