Cephalexin is in a group of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics and is used to fight bacteria in the body.
You need to see a dentist as antibiotic therapy alone may not be effective to treat a dental abscess. Surgical drainage and or a root canal filling is often required in conjunction with pain relief and antibiotics.
