Hello birmc01. Your body is adjusting itself to the Celexa, and I'm afraid you'll be feeling some of these side effects for a bit longer. How much I really cannot say since I don't know when you started the drug. Usually anywhere from the day you began taking it, you might feel the more physical side effects for possibly up to ten days and in some cases, longer. Theres no given rule of this or that amount of time because, we respond to the various drugs/medications in our own way and time. Best of wishes and good health to you, pledge

You've been on the celexa for 37 days and still these side effects. Sometimes, not saying this is so in your case, a drug such as Celexa might either be adjusted, to less or more. And more often than not, does do the trick. Or if these effects stay as bothersome to you as they have been up to now, the drug might also be dropped. Its often a decision made by the user. You might take it up with your prescribing physician, or wait it out. Its entirely your choice, for you are the person taking the drug/medication. There are as I suggested, options. Best to you, pledge
Have you ever taken any other medications for depression? What is the dose that you are on of Celexa? Sometimes the dose needs to be adjusted. I would definitely speak to your doctor about this asap. They could either adjust your medication or possibly change it. The longer your are on it, the harder it is to change, but it is possible. Some medications work diferent from others, however it just sounds like it needs to be adjusted. The first week is not really a good predictor of how the medication will work for you. It usually takes at least two weeks for it to kick in to your system. Please talk to your Dr. asap. Best if Luck.
