I had my first Carboplatin infusion Tuesday last week. Last evening and today I have been vomiting, both after eating or drinking something, and when nothing has been consumed for some time beforehand. Is this likely to be chemotherapy related, a week later?

Hi Still me... yes, sometimes this can happen with chemotherapy drugs. I would check with your oncologist. If you are not able to keep anything down you could get severely dehydrated.
So sorry for your condition. I wish you all the best. I will say a special prayer for you tonight... pup

Thank you so much for your kind words, Pup.
My Oncologist has prescribed Emend for premed and for the 2 days right after chemo, and I have also been given Zofran and Ativan. Yesterday was the worst day - could not keep anything down, including the pills. Last night I managed some chicken soup, and a Zofran. I took another Zofran at 4:00am this morning, but then I "lost" my morning coffee within 1/2 hour of drinking it this morning.
I just wondered if this was chemo side effects, or if it could be something unrelated. (It's always a problem, knowing what is "just" an s/e, and what needs further investigation.)
I'll see how the rest of the day goes...
Have a good day.
Dear still me... you poor dear. Just try to get anything down when u can.
Have you called your doc about how long this may last after each treatment?
All my very best. I wish I could make you some chicken soup!! Pup
Hi stillme... it says there is a comment but it is not here. Hope you had a better day. Pup
Well, now the Onc. says to take the Zofran and Ativan at the same time. I'm also now on the Sancuso patch. And yet, here I am, currently fighting the nausea, feeling like I'm not going to win...
Nope, I didn't. Had to interrupt this to run to the bathroom.
I can only hope that this (side effect) will pass in the not too distant future. The Onc. says the only next thing to try is Decadron. And I've just gone through tapering off this medication - it wasn't fun!
Thank you, Pup, for you suggestions and kindness. I appreciate it very much!
Have a good weekend, coming up.
