I don't recommend trying to take a few Paxil to replace the Zoloft. While these medicines are similar in that they are SSRI antidepressants, they must build in the system to be effective. Stopping the Zoloft for a few days and taking the Paxil is just going to send you into Zoloft withdrawal and the Paxil will not have built up enough in your system to do anything for the anxiety.

Hello koolkevo4. I agree with Laurie. But if you need to ask your doctor. I have been on both these medications and currently on paxil. They, although both do almost the same job in regards to anxiety, depression they are in thier chemical make up different, hence your body would require time to adjust to the zoloft.best to you.
