Temazepam is one of the benzodiazepine family of drugs which are commonly used to treat anxiety and related conditions. Temazepam does have anti-anxiety properties but it is generally not used to treat anxiety. Tolerance to temazepam can develop rapidly so it is not recommended for long-term use.
Temazepam is only approved by the FDA for the short term treatment of insomnia.
