Can you be on macrodantin indefinitely?

I have seen Macrodantin (nitrofurantoin) used long term in some elderly patients, who have recurrent urinary tract infections.

Marvell just recently I have a friend who has recurrent Urinary tract infections and you are right that is what they have been using for her

Yep, it is unanimous, lol. My Mom is on macrodantin (low dosage) indefinitely for reoccuring urinary tract infections. It has helped her, though she still occassionally will have one and they have to give her further antibiotic to clear it up.
