I gave my 15 year old daughter extra strenght Tylenol for a fever, yesterday and today. Both times she broke out in hives. This was the first time I ever gave the extra strength. Can this be causing the hives? has anyone ever heard of this?

yes, i did the same exact thing when i was that age! And my doctor said not to take the tylenol, but take ibprofen instead, so i did and then later (maybe a year) i tried the tylenol again and i've been taking it ever since! no problems! i am now 24.
ps never heard anyone else having that problem though.

What is the best treatment for hives - Benadryl?
what treatment would you recommend for a friend whom has taken a tylenol 3 thinking it was an asprin. He is having hives only on his face? Benadryl?

I have taken Tylenol all my life and in the past five months, I had gotten head to toe hives on four difference occasion. I have never had hives before in my life. Thank God for Benadryl. It took me a long before I realized I was having a allergic reaction to the Tylenol.
I did call the company that makes Tylenol to inform them and shortly after they had some kind of a recall on both Tylenol and Benadryl?
To LJG1:
If you are over 65 be careful with Benadryl. I've been taking it off and on for years with Dr approval to help me sleep. Three weeks ago I took some at bed time and ended up with incredibly itchy hives but it never occurred to me that it was Benadryl causing the hives so six hours later I took it again and hives broke out even worse.
After that I did some research and also asked my pharmacist and yes Benadryl can cause an allergic reaction - hives - particularly in those of us over 65 - I just turned 70.
