Can this be used to treat Aspergers, GAD, and OCD?

Hi hellotoall - In a word, yes. Paliperidone or Invega is a second generation atypical antipsychotic (similar to Resperidone, but newer medication, I believe); often prescribed for schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, it has been shown to be helpful for anxiety, and with OCD, as well, since that is also an anxiety disorder. (OCD can also be a long-standing personality disorder, which takes more of the form of hoarding & usually at opposite end of the spectrum from the OCD anxiety disorder type). It's also been shown to be helpful for Asperger's Syndrome. Hope this helps a bit. It looks like the Dr. is, at least, on the right track towards finding some help for your relative, or giving it a good first shot. I know, its kinda strange when Drs or researchers begin finding other uses for the medications which are originally developed for just that one use... I guess that's what much testing & experimenting does. Good Luck!
