Yes, it can cause confusion.

I recommend you contact your Doctor ASAP as this is a seriuos side effect.-

Maso is right, this drug can cause confusion in the elderly, but it can also cause a lot of other problems, too (neuropathy, edema, loss of appetitie, vertigo, insomnia, and urinary tract infections). It can really do a number on an older person. I would agree that you should speak to the patients doctor if he/she is exhibiting any signs of the above mentioned symptoms. Hope this helps.
