I am 24 and diagnosed with hyperthyroidism caused by graves disease. I've been on methimazole for about 9 months and was recently diagnosed with molluscum contagionos. The doctor said children usually get that virus. Could my medication be the cause of why I got it? I did some research on my own and it was often associated with adult who had HIV and that scared me. I have know reason to believe I have HIV, but the that fact that it was associated with it scared me. Please give me some peace of mind!
Can taking methimazole lower my immune function enough to make me easily get molluscum contagionos?
