Sometimes antibiotics can be given for UTI prophylaxis (prevention) in someone who gets them frequently. It is usually a very low dose of a daily antibiotic. Usually I have seen them give Macrobid or Macrodantin for this as it acts only on UTI's. I would not recommend this personally because I think there are better ways to combat frequent UTI's but I have seen it done If this is for yourself and you are interested in knowing actions to take to prevent a UTI send me a private message and I will write out what to do if you are interested.
