My 4 year daughter has been taking macrodantin for about 1-year now. She has developed a scaley condition on her scalp. Can this be a side effect?
Can Macrodantin cause any scalp related conditions?

She was disgnosed with Kidney Reflux and is on a low dose to prevent UTIs. The goal is to get her off here soon, either with good news from her ultrasoound and VCUG tomorrow, or surgery to correct it if we need to.

This question might be better anwered by a pharmacist. Macrodantin usually treats bladder infections and uti's and most of the time, the body responds to it quickly. There wasn't enough info in your post about why a 4 year old is on it or why so long. If it were my daughter, I would take her to another doctor and find out why she needs to be on it for so long. I am saying a Prayer for you and yoru daughter.

Macrodantin - Is nitrofurantoin "related" to sulfa drugs?
