For what? Itching? Can't hurt anything.

Nothing, really, will hurt a tattoo except sunlight. You can put lotions or medications on them as long as it's not a new tattoo that might still have some scabbing. Sunlight will fade a tattoo, but that's the only thing I know of that you shouldn't do.
