If I take a Zantac after I've started feeling heartburn symptoms, is it too late? As I understand it, Zantac is supposed to prevent the acid from building. So if it has already started, will it be ineffective?

Hello
If you want a great heartburn med thats over the counter, Prilosec OTC is great. Its a little expensive but it works well. I take prilosec in the morning and the Zantac at night before bed. Im prescribed them both though. Always seek professional help if you not sure. Take care
