I have Fibromyalgia. I was taking Paxil 40 and Effexor 75 daily. I substituted Cymbalta instead of the Paxil. Should I stop taking the Effexor too. I suffer from bad Insomnia too.

I don't recommend taking two antidepressants of them same category such as two SSRI's or two SNRI's due to the following possible interaction: (click on link to read)
Your insomnia may well be due to the excessive serotonin and hyperstimulation of certain brainstem receptors. Please consult the doctor before substituting or mixing these medicines.

I believe the insommnia is due to the fibromyalgia. It is a common symptom of it. You do not get the REM sleep in which your body can rest & let the brain revive. I can't recomment a drug other than maybe xanax to help you sleep. This is what I have taken for years. My husband is bipolar & takes zoloft 100mg, & wellbutrin, & his psych wrote him the script for xanax. Hope this help...
